Ustaad Bhagat Singh Box Office Collection Day 1: Pawan Kalyan’s Cop Drama Surpasses Rs 30 Cr Amid Dhurandhar 2 Storm

Telugu drama Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, locked horns with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge on March 19, 2026. Surprisingly, the cop drama surpassed the day 1 collection of Aditya Dhar’s directorial, Telugu version. The Telugu film collected Rs 31.5 crore across 4,607 shows on its opening day in India. 

Directed by Harish Shankar, the film features Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna, and R. Parthiban in key roles. Release during the Ugadi festive period worked in its favour, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the festival traditionally drives higher footfall in theatres. Although Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge minted Rs 102.55 crore net on day 1, it was majorly driven by the Hindi version. The Telugu dubbed version of Dhurandhar 2 added Rs 2.12 crore to the total earnings with an occupancy of about 59 percent. Turns out, Ustaad Bhagat Singh registered a bigger opening day than Dhurandhar 2’s Telugu dubbed version. 

According to the estimates released by Sacnilk, Ustaad Bhagat Singh earned a net of Rs 31.50 crore in the Telugu-speaking belt. The film’s total gross collections stood at Rs 37.17 crore on day 1. Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is mounted on an estimated budget of Rs 150 crore. On March 19, the drama opened to mixed reactions from the audience.

The film centers on the character Bhagat Singh, portrayed by Kalyan. He is inspired by his teacher, who gave him the name Bhagat Singh and instilled strong values in him. As a tribal boy, he grew up with deep-rooted principles. Fearless by nature, he stands up against injustice as he matures, confronting those in power despite the challenges he faces. Released alongside Dhurandhar 2, it is indeed enthralling to eagle-eye on the box office numbers of both films.
