Train Release Date OUT: Vijay Sethupathi’s Action Thriller to Premiere in December After Prolonged Delay

After months of anticipation, Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan’s “Train” has finally received a release date. Set to arrive in cinema halls on Dec. 4, 2026, the action thriller is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Taking to his social media feeds, Vijay Sethupathi shared a fresh poster announcing the release date of the film.

Taking to social media, Vijay Sethupathi wrote, “Get ready for the ride! Train storms into cinemas worldwide on DECEMBER 4!” For the unversed, “Train” was first announced in November 2023. Subsequently, it went on floors in December 2023 and was then rumoured to have a release in 2025. However, the makers locked in a 2026 release date. 

Helmed by Mysskin, the film also boasts a stellar cast including Nasser, Yugi Sethu, Narain, KS Ravikumar, Sampath Raj, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand, Ajay Ratnam, Vincent Ashokan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Thrigun Arun, Ganesh Venkatraman, Preethy Karan, Singampuli, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Shaji. The 43-second teaser was unveiled three months ago, introducing a speeding train apparently taken over by dangerous individuals. It follows a saga of a grief-stricken protagonist who boards a long-distance train intended as a final journey to visit his late wife’s grave before taking his own life.
