Toxic Box Office Collection Day 1: Yash’s Action Gangster Thriller Mints Over Rs 140 Cr Worldwide
After months of anticipation, Yash-starrer “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” has finally hit the theatres on Aug. 26, sparking a wave of buzz online yet again. Though it opened to a set of mixed reviews from early reviewers and fans, the action thriller is dominating the box office.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, it collected a net of Rs 101.10 crore by running across 24,579 shows on the first day. Yash had already set the bar high with his previous blockbuster, KGF 2. However, “Toxic” couldn’t break the opening-day record held by the film, which minted Rs 116 crore.

Yash in “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” is undoubtedly phenomenal. He has impressed the audience with his commanding screen presence. Besides Yash, the film also boasts a large ensemble cast that includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi.
Talking about its box office collection so far, the film has grossed Rs 120.75 crore in India and Rs 20 crore in the overseas market. This brings its total worldwide collection to Rs 140.75 crore.
Helmed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is produced by KVN Productions in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The Hindi version has collected Rs 55 crore net, more than twice the Rs 23.30 crore earned by the Kannada version. On the other hand, the Telugu version has raked in Rs 16 crore net, while Tamil stands at Rs 5.50 crore and Malayalam at Rs 1.30 crore. As the weekend rolls over in a few days, it is interesting to watch the numbers reach greater heights.
