The One About Matthew Perry Trailer OUT

The three-part series titled “The One About Matthew Perry” is all geared up to leave fans and a global audience weeping in a corner. It covers the late actor’s career, relationships, and long battle with addiction. Moreover, it uncovers the real Matthew Perry, who was not only generous, funny, and vulnerable, but also the one who fought to become the man behind the icon. In a nutshell, the docuseries will chronicle the actor’s Hollywood success, outspoken advocacy, and tragic death as told by his inner circle.

The trailer kicks off with a montage of archival footage and interviews with Perry discussing his desire to make people laugh and become famous. One of the archives reveals how he bagged the role of Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, “Friends,” which ran from 1994 to 2004, across 236 episodes. Perry made the world laugh; however, he was silently fighting a battle of his own.

Directed by Emmy winner Mary Robertson, the docuseries features Perry’s near and dear ones, including his sister, Mia Perry Bowick, who revealed that he spent $7 million trying to get sober from his addiction. Roger Castillo and David Pressman, his longtime friends, also spoke a few words for Perry for the first time. In fact, the people who met him in recovery and rehab, Evelyn Sallinger and Tim Harrington, also spoke.

The unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family’s private archive are the most heartwarming scenes of the documentary. Directed by Robertson and executive produced by Robertson, Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Sandman, “The One About Matthew Perry” is clearly the series Friends fans are waiting for.
