The Love Hypothesis Author Ali Hazelwood to Release Sequel Titled, The Two Body Problem, Film in Works With Amazon

Just when fans and cinephiles were trying to cope with the sizzling chemistry of Adam Carlson and Olive Smith from the newly released “The Love Hypothesis,” the author has exciting news to share. On her social media handle, Ali Hazelwood announced the sequel to her much-loved 2021 romance novel. Titled “The Two-Body Problem,” it will be hitting the bookshelves on Feb. 2, 2027, while MRC is already developing the book-to-screen adaptation.

The Love Hypothesis Sequel Announced  

Based on Ali Hazelwood’s best-selling romance novel, “The Love Hypothesis” began streaming on Prime Video on Sept. 23. Since its release, fans can’t help but swoon over the lead cast, Tom Bateman and Lili Reinhart. What has added to the buzz is the announcement of the hit rom-com’s sequel. 

Sharing the exciting news, author Ali Hazelwood wrote, “I wrote a sequel to The Love Hypothesis” is not a sentence I thought I’d say a year or so ago, but now I weirdly can’t imagine a world in which The Two-Body Problem doesn’t exist. I’m really eager to talk more about this book and how it came about in the next few months. For now let me just say that the TLH movie and its cast made me fall for Adam and Olive all over again, that revisiting them was an absolute pleasure, and that I am delighted to show you the amazing cover that @lilith_saur illustrated (I can’t believe she and I go back almost a decade by now.” 

Talking about the sequel and what the viewers and readers can expect, she shared that “The Two-Body Problem” will span a couple of years. It will offer a mix of slice of life, postdoctoral turmoil, and unflinching exploration of the hardest challenge one will face in a long-term relationship: deciding what to have for dinner. So if anyone wants to read more about Adam and Olive, the sequel is everything that they can wish for. 

Before unveiling the gist of the second installment, she shared a few things about herself as an author. “As someone who gets VERY attached to stories and characters, I know that unannounced sequels can be blindsiding, so feel free to skip this book and overwrite it with whatever headcanon you prefer, and I’ll see you on the next one!” Preorders are open on Barnes & Noble and Amazon and will soon be available through other retailers.
