Spider-Noir Trailer OUT: Nicolas Cage to Hail As Marvel’s Darkest Superhero
On May 20, Prime Video dropped the trailer of the much-anticipated series Spider-Noir. Headlined by Nicolas Cage, the series marks the actor’s first leading TV role. Positioned as a live-action series, it is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Led by Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage, Spider Noir chronicles the story of Ben Reilly portrayed by Nicolas Cage, who is a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York. After a deeply personal tragedy, he is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s only superhero.
Bankrolled by Sony Pictures Television for Prime Video, the series is all geared up to roll out globally on Prime Video starting from May 27, 2026, across more than 240 countries and territories. Here’s what more you can expect!
Spider-Noir Trailer Unveiled: What to Expect?
The trailer of Spider-Noir shows a glimpse of Cage’s version of Ben Reilly as a hardened and jaded figure. He is markedly different from the traditional wisecracking Spider-Man. The glimpse teases several villains drawn from Spider-Man lore and reimagined for the 1930s setting, including Andrew Lewis Caldwell’s Megawatt, a character visually reminiscent of Electro, and Jack Huston’s Sandman. Additionally, Crime bosses Tombstone and Silvermane are also featured prominently, hinting at a larger rogues’ gallery for the series.
Alongside the lead, the series also features a massive ensemble of cast, including Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson in key roles. The guest star cast comprises Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
Bankrolled by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video, Spider-Noir is helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer, who has also executive-produced the first two episodes. Additionally, Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot join in as co-showrunners and executive producers. Uziel and Lightfoot have developed the series with the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Lord and Miller serve as executive producers for their shingle, Lord Miller, along with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear.
Guess what more? Audience can binge-watch the series by choosing ‘Authentic Black & White’ or ‘True-Hue Full Color’ depending upon their preferences.
