Spider Man: Brand New Day Soars to $927m Worldwide & Rs 77 Cr in India, Sees the 2nd Best Opening Weekend Ever

Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has been dominating the box office since its premiere. The first weekend has rolled over, and, unsurprisingly, the action-adventure has hit new milestones. The film raked in blockbuster $927 million in worldwide ticket sales, delivering the second-best opening weekend of all, both domestically and globally. Moreover, it collected $355 million in the United States and Canada in its opening weekend, making it the second-biggest debut in domestic box office history after 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” which earned $357 million.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day witnesses the second-biggest ever global opening weekend. Released on July 20, 2026, the buzz around the film shows no signs of slowing down. Fans, critics, and cinephiles have created a frenzy over social media, with many praising different aspects of the film. 

Talking about its box office collection internationally, the Destin Daniel Cretton directorial has grossed $572 million, with China leading international markets with $121m in ticket sales. The numbers bring the film’s global opening total to $927 million. Additionally, in Australia, it had the biggest opening weekend of 2026, making $30.4 million. In India, on the first Sunday, the film minted Rs 77 crore, bringing the total India gross collections to Rs 308.90 crore. 

Starring real-life husband and wife Tom Holland and Zendaya, the film created significant buzz online since its announcement. All in all, Marvel Studios currently boasts the four largest openings of all time at the global box office (not adjusted for inflation) including “Avengers: Endgame,” which collected $1.22bn, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” with $927m, “Avengers: Infinity War with $640m and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” which had raked in $600m. As the week progresses, the numbers are expected to keep escalating.
