Spider Man: Brand New Day Box Office Day 1: Tom Holland’s Superhero Film Hits Milestone, Grosses Over 60 Cr in India
It is no news that Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has brought a storm at the box office. Released on July 30, the film has sparked a frenzy on social media, with many praising the emotional storyline. In India, the superhero film grossed Rs 60.60 crore on its opening day.
According to Sacnilk, Tom Holland and Zendaya’s action-adventure film surpassed the record-breaking numbers of “Dhurandhar” and “Pathaan” on the first day of its release. Helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film registered the biggest opening ever for a Hollywood release in India.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office Current Earnings
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is currently running across 7,461 shows. As per industry tracker Sacnilk’s data, on day 2, it collected a net of Rs 10.57 crore, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 84.91 crore gross.
Talking about occupancy, the film registered an overall occupancy of 56.58 per cent across India. The morning shows recorded 51.22 per cent occupancy, which remained steady during the afternoon. As the day unfolded, the numbers jumped to 58.78 per cent in the evening and gradually 65.11 per cent during the night shows, indicating a strong response throughout the day.
The film surpassed the opening-day collections of other Hollywood movies, including “Avengers: Endgame,” which had grossed Rs 65 crore and “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which collected Rs 48.75 crore gross on its first day in India. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has already crossed Rs 1000 crore worldwide. It was released in India on July 30, a day ahead of its US release on July 31. Now all eyes are on its weekend collection!
