Rohit Shetty Claps Back at Claims Connecting Do Aur Do Paanch to Golmaal 5, Issues Legal Warning to False Stories

Rohit Shetty’s team takes to social media to clap back at the reports claiming Golmaal 5 is the remake of Do Aur Do Paanch. Since Golmaal 5 is a part of his blockbuster comedy universe, the filmmaker issues a legal warning against those disseminating false or misleading information. As the anticipation for Golmaal 5 grows, the creators intervened to address the ongoing rumors and speculation at the right moment.

Golmaal 5 is expected to go on the floors in March 2026. Some media reports hinted that the fifth installment of the hit franchise might take cues from the 1980’s drama starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in the lead roles. Here’s how the filmmaker and his team dismissed the false claims.

The official clarification stated, “We wish to issue a strict clarification regarding certain news reports currently circulating across online and digital media platforms claiming that Golmaal 5 is inspired by or based on the film ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’. We categorically state that these reports are factually incorrect, misleading, and completely untrue. We strongly request all media houses, publications, portals, and digital platforms to refrain from publishing or circulating unverified information.” 

Furthermore, the statement also warned media outlets to stop spreading inaccurate updates. Any news about Rohit Shetty or his upcoming film must be verified with the authorities or Universal Communications, the official PR representatives, before publication. Failing to do so might result in strict legal action. Cooperation in maintaining journalistic accuracy and responsibility is expected, and hence, the team requested that the ongoing circulation pertaining to the film needs to be corrected or taken down at the earliest.  

Golmaal 5 brings back familiar faces Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi, and Tusshar Kapoor, with Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Reportedly, Akshay Kumar may join the stellar starcast.
