Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji was released on May 1, 2026, on the special occasion of Maharashtra Day. Without a doubt, the period drama ruled at the box office, garnering positive reviews and feedback from critics and the audience. The historical epic chronicles the life of the Maratha Empire’s founder, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Starring in the titular role, Reteish Deshmukh has also co-written and directed the film. 

According to Sacnilk, on Day 6, Raja Shivaji collected a net of Rs 4.25 crore by running across 5,619 shows. This brings total India gross collections to Rs 57.70 crore and total India net collections to Rs 48.65 crore. 

Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection Day 6: Take a Look at the Numbers

Raja Shivaji has emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Marathi film and became one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Marathi cinema. On the first day, the historical drama raked in Rs 11.35 crore net in India. The film had exhibited a solid trajectory over its opening weekend.

On Day 6, the Hindi version collected Rs 1.25 crore by running across 3,670 screens with 10 percent occupancy. On the other hand, it minted Rs 3.00 crore through the Marathi version by running 1,949 shows with a 29 percent occupancy rate. All eyes are now on the second weekend for the film to multiply its earnings. 

Bankrolled by Genelia D’Souza and Jyoti Deshpande, Riteish and Genelia star in it as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Saibai. Their sons, Rahyl, essays the role of young Shivaji, while Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte appear in key roles.
