Ranabaali Teaser: Vijay Deverakonda’s Splendid Transformation Leaves Fans Impressed

Slated to hit theatres on Oct. 16, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s “Ranabaali” has sparked significant buzz online. Yesterday, the makers dropped a captivating teaser of the period drama, offering fans a small glimpse of the film. The audience took to social media to express their excitement and anticipation. Many praised Deverakonda’s remarkable transformation. 

Set against the devastating Madras Famine of 1876-78, the period drama explores a chapter of colonial history through the story of a man who refuses to surrender to oppression. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali chronicles the saga of the 19th century when eight million Indian lives were lost under British rule. Take a look at the film’s teaser.

Ranabaali Teaser Unveiled: Vijay Deverakonda’s Face-Off With Arnold Vosloo

Starring Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna, and Arnold Vosloo in the lead roles, “Ranabaali” has emerged as one of the most anticipated movies of 2026 since VIROSH’s wedding. On Sept 9, the makers unveiled the two-minute-32-second teaser of the film, giving fans a closer glimpse of everything they can expect. 

The teaser showcases Arnold essaying the role of Sir Theodore Hector, a man who rules the then-Madras constituency with an iron fist. He rations rice and other grains in the region to the point where people begin to die of starvation. As a result Vijay as Ranabaali fights against oppression and begins to sow terror in the Britishers’ hearts. Called a savage, he strives to free his people. Meanwhile Rashmika plays his wife, Jayamma, who among those who are affected.

The teaser, titled as The Savage’s Oath, introduces Vijay Deverakonda in an intense avatar. The audience have been praising the lead actor’s commanding screen presence. A fan took to X and shared, “One word isn’t enough to describe this madness! Vijay Deverakonda is in a completely new avatar, bringing a whole different energy to the screen.” Another one not just appreciated the actor’s transformation but also found Ajay-Atul’s background music scrore worth-applaud. The user wrote “#Ranabaali Teaser Review = Peak. Teaser Rating = 7/10. One major disappointment is Ajay-Atul’s background score. However, maybe the film will turn out to be epic. Let’s wait and see. Every shot looks perfect. Arnold Vosloo as the villain is absolutely brilliant. Vijay Deverakonda’s appearance and dialogues look much more developed, with some top-notch visuals.
