Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, “Ramayana” opened to mixed reviews, following its much-anticipated release on Nov. 5. Fans and critics praised the film’s VFX, grand visuals, direction, and overall narrative. However, a few found Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita a misfit for their respective roles. Despite the mixed reactions from early viewers, the film performed extremely well at the box office.

Released on the special and festive occasion of Diwali, the mythological epic opened with Rs 77.50 crore gross by running across 25,200 shows, registering 36 percent occupancy. Despite the buzz, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash-starrer Ramayana failed to surpass Om Raut and Prabhas’ Adipurush. As days passed and the weekend rolled over, the film outpaced the film with its worldwide collection. Take a closer look at the box office numbers.

On the other hand, the film has also outpaced “Drishyam 3: The Conclusion” to become the second-biggest Hindi opener of 2026. Speaking about Rocking Star Yash, the film has recorded his third-biggest opening after “KGF: Chapter 2” and “Toxic.”
