After months of waiting, Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji has finally hit the theatrical screens on May 1, 2026. On the first day of its release, the historical drama surpassed the Rs 10 crore net mark in India. Talking about its gross collection, it collected over Rs 13 crore. The Marathi version of the historical drama alone collected Rs 8 crore. The film tripled the opening-day box-office collection of past blockbusters like Ved and Mauli

Raja Shivaji has made a thunderous debut, recording the biggest opening day ever for a Marathi film with a monumental Rs 12.40 crore net on Day 1, while also emerging as the third highest opening day across all films in 2026. The cinematic tribute to the legendary warrior king has taken the box office by storm, with families flocking to cinemas, especially across Maharashtra, driving exceptional occupancy and footfalls.

Right from the day of its announcement, Raja Shivaji has generated significant buzz on the internet. Be it the first look poster, captivating teaser, or compelling trailers, every glimpse of the drama intrigued fans and movie fanatics. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, the Raja Shivaji minted Rs 11.35 crore in India on its first day, in Hindi and Marathi. The much-anticipated drama earned Rs 8 crore and Rs 3.35 crore in Marathi and Hindi, respectively. 

Produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, Raja Shivaji stars Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Boman Irani, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh.
