The makers of Peddi took to their official Instagram handle to share some exciting news. They wrote, “Box office CHAMPION – #PEDDI SIR 135.36 CR+ GROSS WW on Day 1. Meet #PEDDI now in cinemas. Book your tickets now.” Whether it is about the chartbuster songs, powerful promotional materials, or an impactful trailer, Peddi has generated a significant buzz, right from the day of its announcement. With its gripping story of grit, resilience, and heart, the sports actioner has taken the cinemas by storm, drawing packed houses, enthusiastic fan celebrations, and glowing public reviews. 

Talking about India, the film raked in Rs 51 crore net by running across 12,412 shows. Its total gross collections stand at Rs 82.49 crore. Overseas, the film has grossed over Rs 135.36 crore. Thanks to the overwhelming audience response, steady traction, and strong word-of-mouth, which have translated into phenomenal box-office numbers. To sum up, the film has emerged as one of the biggest openings of 2026.

Looking at the current scenario and earnings, the film is expected to scale even greater heights. The Hindi version alone witnessed strong day-long growth. Not just that, for the lead actor Ram Charan, Peddi marks his second Rs 100 crore-plus opening after RRR. He is the fifth actor to register multiple Rs 100 crore opening days.

In the film, Ram Charan essays the role of a crossover athlete, a character inspired by the journeys of sporting legends who excelled across disciplines before finding their true calling. Much like MS Dhoni, who played football before becoming a cricket icon, and Sachin Tendulkar, who initially explored tennis before rewriting cricketing history, Peddi celebrates themes of perseverance, transformation, and ambition. Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi features Ram Charan in the lead role alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu.
