Patriot Postponed: Mammootty And Mohanlal’s Spy Thriller Set to Lock New Release Date

Starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles, Patriot was originally scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 23, 2026. However, on March 31, the makers took to their official social media handles to announce the postponement of its release. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the Malayalam film also features Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Rajeev Menon, Revathy, Grace Antony, Zarin Shihab, Sreeparvathy, Geethi Sangeetha, Jinu Joseph, Danish Husain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman, and Prakash Belawadi in key roles.

Makers announced the delay due to unforeseen circumstances. The new date is expected to be revealed on April 1, 2026. Here’s what the makers said.

On Tuesday, March 31, producer Anto Joseph took to his social media handle and wrote, “We are striving to bring Patriot to you in the best possible quality. However, it has become imperative to push it by a few days from the earlier planned April 23 due to the pressure of unforeseen circumstances. Our beloved Mammookka and Lalettan will announce the new release date through their social media pages at 6 pm tomorrow. Expecting your continued love and support.” 

Though fans are disheartened with the news, their interest remains untouched. The previously released teaser introduced Mammootty’s character, who seems to be on a secret mission. On the other hand, Mohanlal sports the role of a soldier, and Fahadh Faasil adds tension to the compelling story. In a nutshell, the film is expected to explore strong conflicts and power struggles. Sadly, fans and movie fanatics need to wait a little longer to witness the magic of two legendary actors on the big screen. Just to refresh your memory, movies like Michael, Ginny Weds Sunny 2, and The Wardrobe are set to arrive in theatres on April 24.
