Patrick Muldoon, ‘Days of Our Lives’ And ‘Melrose Place’ Fame, Suddenly Passes Away at 57

On April 19, 2026, Sunday, Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place fame Patrick Muldoon left for his heavenly abode at the age of 57. His sad demise was confirmed by his sister, Shana Muldoon Zappa, and manager, revealing the cause of death as a heart attack. In 1992, Muldoon rose to fame when he landed the role of a hunky boxer, Austin Reed, on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, which premiered in 1965 on NBC. The show ran from 1992 to 1995. The actor returned to the soap to reprise the role from 2011 to 2012.

According to TMZ, Muldoon passed away due to a heart attack, and paramedics were called after his girlfriend found him unconscious in their Beverly Hills home. He was survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart; parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr, his sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, niece Halo, and nephew Arrow Zappa.

The actor’s last big on-screen appearance will come in the forthcoming action-crime thriller, Dirty Hands, opposite another of his Starship Trooper co-stars, Denise Richards.
