On the first Sunday, the film earned Rs 3.25 crore net, achieving the highest occupancy rate of 48 percent.
For the unversed, Obsession marks Curry Barker’s directorial debut. Starring Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, and Andy Richter in the lead roles, it tells the story of Bear, portrayed by Michael Johnston, a shy and awkward music store employee. He purchases a supernatural toy that grants him his wish for his friend Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette, to fall in love with him. This sets off a series of events with horrifying consequences.
