Netflix’s The Royals Season 2, Featuring Ishaan Khatter, Goes on the Floor

Netflix’s much-loved romantic drama, “The Royals,” has finally begun production for its second season. The show will return with Ishaan Khatter in the lead role, and the beloved Morpur family is set to deliver irresistible chemistry, complex relationships, and dramatic storylines on a grand scale.

Fans and netizens are incredibly excited as the gates of Morpur Palace will open once again. The first part featured a fresh, glamorous look at modern-day Indian royalty, which struck a chord with viewers worldwide. Now the announcement of “The Royals Season 2” has sparked a buzz online.

Helmed by Nitya Mehra and Tanuj Chopra, the second installment will continue on a grander scale, with more kingdoms entering the fold, new alliances, rivalries, and romances in the making, proving once again that royal life is anything but orderly. Besides Ishaan Khatter, the drama also marks the return of Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Vihaan Samat, and Kavya Trehan, reprising their roles. 

Creators Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy shared that Morpur has found a place in the hearts of audiences far beyond its palace walls. The love audiences have shown The Royals, in India and across the world, has made their journey with the show all the more special. They further added, “We’re excited to return to this world of larger-than-life characters, complicated relationships and a family that never runs short of surprises. With Season 2, we’re looking forward to taking the story forward, bringing back the characters audiences have come to love, and turning up the romance, humour and family drama. The series head, Tanya Bami, shared that “The Royals” combines two very dynamic themes. Firstly, it has an exotic and glamorous appeal of Indian royalty and forbidden romance. “When traditions collide with very modern ideas of love, ambition, family and identity, the outcome is unmissable,” she further added. In a nutshell, audiences can look forward to more romance, feisty banter, family drama, unexpected twists and chaotic entanglements.
