Nayyi Navelli Trailer Unveiled: What to Expect?

On Sept. 20, Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow unveiled the trailer of “Nayyi Navelli.” Yami Gautam Dhar essays the role of Mohini, the new and perfect daughter-in-law. But a secret extends far beyond their home. Set in Meerut, the film blends humour, family chaos, mystery and action in a larger-than-life festive spectacle. Speaking about her character, Yami shared that the warmth, familiarity, and mystery surrounding the character attracted her the most. The film allowed her to explore a character that moves seamlessly between family, humour, emotion, fantasy, and action, while still staying rooted at heart.

The trailer pulls audiences into the Awasthi family’s world, where the arrival of their new bahu, Mohini, soon raises more questions than answers. What begins with the familiar rhythms of an Indian family, complete with its personalities, opinions, and wedding rituals, gradually opens the door to something far more extraordinary. Yami Gautam Dhar further added, “It was a wonderful experience working with Balaji sir, Aanand sir, Himanshu, the team at Colour Yellow and Amazon MGM Studios. I’m really excited for audiences to meet Mohini this Dussehra and discover her for themselves.”

Bankrolled by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, the film also boasts a stellar cast including Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, and Prateek Pachori in pivotal roles.

Talking about the film, Director Balaji Mohan shared, “We have a fantastic ensemble, with everyone bringing something unique to the mix, while Yami brings warmth, mystery, and mischief to Mohini. We’ve taken these household dynamics and given them a larger-than-life spin while keeping the humour intact throughout, and I am excited for audiences to experience my first Hindi film and this epic, fantastical world on the big screen this Dussehra.”
