Mummy 4 Release Date OUT: Brendan Fraser And Rachel Weisz Starrer to Hit the Silver Screen in 2028!

Mummy fans, assemble! Oscar winners Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are returning to the silver screen with The Mummy 4. Reprising their roles of Rick O’Connell and Evelyn ‘Evie’ O’Connell, the much-loved film franchise’s fourth instalment is all geared up to hit the theatres on May 19, 2028. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, David Coggeshall pens the screenplay while keeping the originality of the tone intact. 

After months of speculation and swirling rumors, Universal Pictures officially announced the release date on February 11, 2026. As a result, fans and the global audience can’t help but express their excitement toward the long-anticipated comeback of the adventurers.

Mummy 4 Release Date Revealed: What to Expect? 

The chemistry between Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in 1999’s The Mummy and 2001’s The Mummy Returns captivated audiences. Both blockbuster action-adventure films grossed over $400 million each at the worldwide box office. Fraser returned solo for 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, but Weisz’s absence was deeply felt. Nonetheless, the third installment managed to mint $403 million. 

For the unversed, following The Mummy Returns, there was a prequel, The Scorpion King, which revolved around the origins of the character, with Dwayne Johnson returning for the role. Moreover, in 2017, Tom Cruise led a reboot of the franchise as US Army Sergeant Nick Morton.  2017’s The Mummy focused on Nick, who accidentally unearthed an ancient tomb of Egyptian princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella), and she is set free and wreaks havoc in the UK.

Now, fans await further details of The Mummy 4. The lead actors are portrayed as adventurers and archaeologists who become embroiled in a tantalising plot that consists of resurrecting mummies, dastardly villains, and a fair amount of bloodshed in Egypt.
