Bella Ciao’s echoing yet again! The much-loved Netflix series, Money Heist, is making a grand return. Ahead of the release of Berlín y la dama del armiño (Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine), the OTT giant Netflix has hinted at a continuation of the franchise. The original Money Heist series concluded in 2021 after a five-season run. Now, Berlin: Season 2, also known as Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine is all geared up to stream globally from May 15, 2026.
Though the series officially ended Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) Season 5 back in December 2021, there are hints of a return. Netflix has confirmed the Money Heist universe will continue beyond Berlin Season 2.
The upcoming season of the spin-off series features Pedro Alonso as Berlin. Though there are speculations of Money Heist Season 6, Netflix has not clarified whether the next chapter will be another spin-off, a direct continuation of the original story, or an official Money Heist Season 6. The teaser was accompanied by the message, “It began with money, then came gold and priceless treasure. But the revolution isn’t yet over. What comes next has already begun.”
Netflix announced the spin-off series in Seville, Spain. Fans gathered in large numbers along the Guadalquivir River to witness the unique promotional event inspired by the franchise. A boat carrying people dressed in the iconic red jumpsuits and Dalí masks sailed across the river. Additionally, the famous anthem “Bella Ciao” echoed through the crowd. Undoubtedly, the event immediately surfaced online, reminding audiences why the series continues to be a big hit.
The OTT platform suggested that the “revolution never ends”, emphasizing that more stories from the Money Heist universe are already being planned. The preview tapped at the major robberies from the original series, including the Royal Mint and Bank of Spain heists, while also teasing new adventures ahead. Now, netizens are counting down the days until the much-loved series begins streaming.
