After months of delay and postponement, Salman Khan’s “Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace” has finally locked Dec. 4 as its release date. Ahead of its trailer launch, the lead actor got the cat out of the bag and dismissed the rumours surrounding the film. The superstar said that the makers have secured the necessary clearances, including approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with zero cuts.

Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, “Maatrubhumi” will now lock horns with Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Tamannaah Bhatia, “Ranger,” Shraddha Kapoor’s “Eetha”, and Vijay Sethupathi’s “Train” at the box office.

Maatrubhumi Release Date

Salman Khan’s war drama “Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace” is all geared up for its big-screen outing on Dec. 4. In addition to confirming the premiere date, he also dismissed rumours of government interference in the script, clarifying that claims suggesting the government asked the makers to make changes are false.

Initially, the war drama was scheduled to hit the theatrical screens in January and then was postponed to Nov. 20. However, after months of delay, title changes, and uncertainty, it is set to arrive in theatres this December. Besides Salman Khan, the film also stars Chitrangda Singh in the lead role. The film is inspired by the June 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. Though Salman Khan has confirmed the release date of the film, the makers have yet to officially announce its premiere on their social media platforms.
