Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaaram has rolled over the weekend, sparking a wave of positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim. The action comedy was released in theatres on June 19. Despite facing tough competition at the box office, it has achieved worldwide collections of Rs 46 crore. 

On the first day, the film collected Rs 6.20 crore net. Later, it gained momentum and picked up over the weekend. The film’s collections spiked to Rs 7.65 crore on Saturday and further escalated to Rs 10.10 crore on Sunday. All in all, the movie seamlessly ran through the first weekend, emerging as Samantha’s biggest solo-led box-office opener to date.

Telugu drama Maa Inti Bangaaram recorded yet another successful day at the box office. Both on day 4 and day 5, the film crossed the Rs 4 crore mark. Audience appreciation and positive reviews for Samantha’s performance have been among the biggest factors that worked in the film’s favour. Her character is a perfect mix of weakness, strength, and emotional depth, which has been lauded by both fans and critics. 

For the unversed, the action-fueled family drama is set against the 1980s backdrop. Samantha essays the role of Swarna, who marries Anirudh against the wishes of his parents. The couple gets an opportunity to return to Anirudh’s village when his sister’s wedding takes place.

Swarna gradually wins the hearts of Anirudh’s family members with her love and affection, but her past continues to haunt her. The film revolves around how she faces those challenges and protects her family.
