British singer-songwriter Lauren Bennett left for the heavenly abode on May 29, just a month before which would have been her 37th birthday. Her sad demise was not officially announced until a formal statement by the members of her former band, G.R.L., in an Instagram post on July 6. Renowned for her songs on the global hit Party Rock Anthem and her work with girl group G.R.L., Bennett’s sudden demise has left fans searching for answers about what happened to the singer.

Lauren Bennett Breathes Her Last at 36

On Monday, former musical group G.R.L. shared the news on its Instagram. Former members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula van Oppen wrote, “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLs, Em, Tash, and P.” 

The statement did not reveal a cause of death, and representatives for Bennett did not immediately respond to any comment. No official details regarding the circumstances surrounding her passing have been released. 

In 2014, Bennett became a part of the pop group G.R.L., created as a reboot of US girl group The Pussycat Dolls, alongside singers Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle, and Emmalyn Estrada.
