Lahore 1947 Release Date OUT: Sunny Deol And Preity Zinta Starrer to Hit Theatres on Independence Day

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 has been running successfully at the theatres since January 23. After the mega Republic Day Release, the actor is now all geared up for Lahore 1947. Slated for release on the special occasion of Independence Day, on August 13, 2026, the film is brought to you by Aamir Khan Productions. Alongside Sunny Deol, stars Preity G. Zinta and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the period drama marks the first-ever collaboration of the three.

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 has set the box office on fire and faded away Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar dominance. Not just that, the renowned actor has been receiving widespread love post the unveiling of Ikka promo. While Deol is busy making headlines, Aamir Khan Productions shared some good news. 

Aamir Khan’s production house revealed the release date of Lahore 1947, starring the OG action superstar next to  Preity G. Zinta and Shabana Azmi. The caption of the post read, “powerful collaboration for the first time: Aamir Khan × Sunny Deol × Rajkumar Santoshi. We are happy to announce #Lahore1947 will release in theatres on 13th August 2026.” 

Moreover, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol, and Ali Fazal also feature in the film that boasts an impeccable creative team. A.R. Rahman composed the music while Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics. Those who are unversed in Lahore 1947 draw inspiration from a popular Punjabi play, Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai, written by Asghar Wajahat.
