The Telugu drama “Irumudi” hit the theatres on Aug. 21, 2026, alongside several other releases. Starring Ravi Teja in the lead role, the romance comedy has turned out to be a blockbuster for the actor after years. The film witnessed a fantastic opening yesterday at the Indian box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, it collected Rs 14.80 crore by running across 2,673 shows on the first day.
Helmed and written by Shiva Nirvana, the film also boasts a stellar cast including Priya Bhavani Shankar, Baby Nakshathra, Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, Swasika Vijay, Ramesh Indira, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Kishore Kumar Polimera, Meesala Lakshman, Ramana Bhargav and Karthik Adusumilli in pivotal roles. Here’s where the film stands on the second day of its release.
Irumudi locked horns at the box office with films targeting different markets. Talking about Hollywood releases, it clashed with “Mutiny,” “Insidious: Out of the Further,” Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan’s “7 Dogs,” and “One Night Only.” There was a time when Ravi Teja was dominating the box office with one hit after another. However, after 2017’s “Raja The Great,” his downfall began. After years, Teja is back in his form, impressing the audience with everything that he does best.
On day 2, at 2 PM IST, the film has collected a net of Rs 2.87 crore by running 1,229 shows. This brings the total gross collections to Rs 20.59 crore in India alone. Talking about the occupancy rate, the “Irumudi” recorded 76.9 percent on the first day, followed by 60 percent on the second day. As the weekend unfolds and the film continues its momentum, it is interesting to see the box office numbers escalate at a good pace.
