International Emmy Awards 2026: India Bags Two Nominations, With Comedian Vir Das Earning His Third Nomination

For the International Emmy Awards 2026, India has received two nominations, while Stand-up comedian Vir Das has earned his third International Emmy nomination for his Netflix special “Vir Das: Fool Volume.” The nominees for the International Emmy Awards 2026 were announced on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The winners of the 54th edition will be announced at a ceremony in New York City on Nov. 23.

International Emmy Awards 2026 nominations are out, with “Real Kashmir Football Club,” starring Manav Kaul and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, being nominated alongside a Thousand Blows, Careme and Menem in the Drama Series category. Das’ stand-up special Vir Das: Fool Volume has been nominated in the Comedy category alongside Division Palermo Season 2, Man vs Baby and Old Dog, New Tricks.

Vir Das has become the first Indian performer to receive three nominations. He received an International Emmy nomination in the comedy category in 2021 for his special ‘Vir Das: For India’. He returned to the nominations in 2023 with ‘Vir Das: Landing’, winning the International Emmy for Comedy. In 2024, he was the first Indian to host the ceremony. 

Sharing the news on Instagram, Das captioned the post writing, “Ummmmm. An International Emmy Nomination. Our third for India. This fool thanks you.” “Vir Das: Fool Volume” premiered on Netflix on July 18, 2025. The stand-up special was filmed across Mumbai, New York, and London.
