Hanuman Ansh Sequel Coming Soon; Vishal Chaturvedi to Highlight Neem Karoli Baba’s Spiritual Journey

“Hanuman Ansh” has brought a storm to the box office. The spiritual drama helmed by Vishal Chaturvedi is the perfect example of slow and steady wins the race. Mounted on a small budget of just Rs 2 crores, the film’s total gross collection escalated miraculously after weeks of release. Today, as of day 29, its box office collection stands at Rs 86.94 crore.

Released on Aug. 7, the film’s earnings unexpectedly skyrocketed. Strong positive reviews and word of mouth have helped the film to gain and maintain its momentum even after almost a month since its premiere. Recently, the filmmaker interacted with audiences at a multiplex in Agra, where he opened up about the plans for Part Two. He also shared that the story was conceived as a trilogy.

“Hanuman Ansh” is based on the life of Neem Karoli Bala, renowned as Maharaj-Ji among his followers. Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the spiritual drama features Shobhinaw Satyaa as Neem Karoli Baba, while Vihaan Shedge essays the role of an older Maharaj Ji in the next phase of the story. The film also draws inspiration from Divine Detour, a book authored by Vishal Chaturvedi.

According to the director, the sequel will dive deeper into significant phases of Neem Karoli Baba’s life and his spiritual journey. The saga will also explore several places closely associated with Maharaj-ji. The filmmaker also said that the story emphasizes his birthplace, Firozabad, before moving to Agra and Mathura.

Apart from the film’s box office turnout, several actors and industry personalities too prasied the film. Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of Neem Karoli Baba. She wrote, “#hanumanansh is not a movie; it’s a satsang, beautifully woven short stories of people who had first-hand experience of #neemkaroribaba. Skip your therapy and go watch it.” Moreover, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also praised the film and its unexpected success at the box office.
