Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai First Look: Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde Offer a Chaotic, High-Energy Rom-Com

On April 14, the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai unveiled the teaser for the much-anticipated film starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde. Slated to hit the theatres on May 22, the romance comedy drama is directed by David Dhawan. The sneak peek of the film shows Varun Dhawan romancing Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. Fans are expecting a love triangle filled with confusion and comedy.

For the unversed, the film was originally scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 12. However, to avoid locking horns with Yash’s Toxic and Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aunga, the makers might have decided to preponed its release. After generating significant buzz from its title announcement, the first look posters, and now the teaser reveal, this drama has captured the attention of movie enthusiasts with its compelling narrative. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s teaser begins with two AI-generated toddlers enquiring about each other’s parents. While they realise that their mothers’ names are different, their father might be the same person. As the teaser unfolds, the audience is introduced to Jass, played by Varun Dhawan, a cool hunk, and the two “mothers” Baani, essayed by Mrunal, and Preet, portrayed by Pooja. Billed as a love-triangle drama, the film is a modern rendition of the song Ishq Sona Hai, originally picturized on Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, from the 1999 film Biwi No. 1, which plays in the background. 

Bankrolled by Tips Films, the supporting cast includes Chunky Pandey, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Mouni Roy. Through the film, Varun Dhawan makes his maiden collaboration with both Mrunal and Pooja. On the other hand, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is his fourth film with his father-director, David Dhawan, after the success of Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie no 1.
