Gandhari Release Date OUT: Taapsee Pannu to Headline Netflix’s Gripping Thriller, Here’s What to Expect!

Helmed by Devashish Makhija, Netflix’s upcoming gripping thriller “Gandhari” stars Taapsee Pannu alongside Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna in pivotal roles. Scheduled to stream from Sept. 3, 2026, it is an emotionally charged action-thriller chronicling a mother’s fight against all odds. 

Penned and bankrolled by Kanika Dhillon, the thriller is expected to explore the extraordinary lengths one woman will go to when everything she loves is at stake. There is no force more powerful than a mother’s love, and no journey more relentless than the one she undertakes to protect her child.

Gandhari to Release on Netflix on Sept. 3

“Gandhari” is set against the atmospheric backdrop of a fictitious town, Joypurra. It is a story of unwavering belief, quiet resilience, and unflinching courage. At its heart lies Bani, a mother whose devotion is tested at every turn, compelling her to confront unimaginable challenges with conviction and sacrifice. 

Marking one of Taapsee Pannu’s most physically demanding roles yet, the film combines extensive action with a deeply human core. Besides the actress, the stellar cast also strives to bring intensity and emotional complexity to Bani’s journey. As she gets closer to finding her daughter, Bani finds herself navigating a dangerous world where every encounter holds a new threat, and the ensemble adds to the tension and unpredictability of her relentless pursuit.

In a nutshell, Bani’s journey is raw, relentless, and deeply personal. As shared by writer Kanika Shillion, through Gandhari, they wanted to tell the story of a woman who refuses to be defined by her circumstances. The film reunites Netflix with Kanika Dhillon and Taapsee Pannu following the success of “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.” On her reunion she shared, “Reuniting with Taapsee once again has been incredibly special — there is a deep creative trust and understanding that we have built over the years, and watching her bring Bani to life with such commitment and intensity was truly rewarding.”
