Farhan Akhtar’s ‘120 Bahadur’ Declared Tax-Free in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta Calls it a Tribute to Soldiers
On November 27, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta exempted the Farhan Akhtar starrer 120 Bahadur from tax. Based on the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, the movie is nothing short of a tribute to the courageous warriors. Delhi CM shared the news on X, captioning her post as, “A historical war film pays a tribute to the extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment.” Having said that, the capital has declared the movie as tax-free.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Farhan’s Excel Entertainment, the film follows the history of Charlie Company of the Kumaon Regiment. Indian actor Farhan Akhtar plays a phenomenal lead role as Major Shaitan Singh, alongside Parsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, Devendra Ahirwar, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Karanwal, Atul Singh, Ajinkya Deo, and Eijaz Khan. The story revolves around the historic war that took place at Rezang La, where 120 Indian soldiers bravely held off over 2000 Chinese troops in a landmark battle.
In a post on X on Thursday, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said the film pays tribute to the “extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice” of the 120 soldiers. Farhan expressed gratitude by replying to her post, “120 Bahadur is now tax-free in Delhi. Grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, @gupta_rekha ji, for her support. Her gracious gesture will help this story of courage reach an even wider audience.“
Furthermore, the former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has also applauded 120 Bahadur. On November 26, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav stated, “Good film with a good message!”
Box Office Collection of 120 Bahadur
According to the Sacnilk website, on Wednesday (Day 6), the film collected Rs. 1 crore, down from Rs. 1.50 crore on Tuesday. The movie has been praised by critics and fans alike; however, it has yet to set the box office ablaze. Speaking about the box office collection, it has earned just Rs 15 crore net in India in its first week.
