French actor Pierre Deny has passed away at the age of 69 after battling with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). On Monday, the renowned, globally recognized for his role in Netflix’s Emily in Paris, left for his heavenly abode. His daughters confirmed his sad demise through a statement shared by the Daily Mail. It read, “It is with deep emotion that we announce the passing of Pierre Deny, which occurred this Monday, following a sudden and severe case of ALS.”

The veteran actor, Pierre Deny, was widely respected in the French entertainment industry. He had built a career spanning decades across both television and film. Deny appeared in more than 100 films and series in France, including Une femme d’honneur, Julie Lescaut, L’Instit, Joséphine, Ange Gardien, Camping Paradis, and Braquo. In a nutshell, he was not simply an actor but a storyteller who gave life to characters.
After struggling with ALS, the actor passed away. According to the National Institutes of Health, the disease progressively degrades and then kills nerve cells in the affected area(s). Over time, the muscle weakening will continue to spread throughout the body, eventually causing difficulties with breathing, chewing, swallowing and speaking.
