Rama Rao Jr. and filmmaker Prashanth Neel has generated significant online buzz, leaving fans and movie fanatics intrigued. The film is positioned as a high-octane action drama starring Jr. NTR opposite Anil Kapoor and Rukmini Vasanth.

The newly unveiled sneak peek features opium wars between two gangs, where Kapoor is given the task to stop Jr. NTR’s wrath. Slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 11, 2027, here’s what’s more in store!

Dragon Trailer Unveiled: What to Expect?

On Wednesday, May 20, the makers took to their official social media timelines to announce the film’s title and share an arresting glimpse of Dragon, marking the lead actor’s birthday. Jr NTR essays the role of Dragon, the assassin-in-chief of the Afghan Trading Company, one of the two prime entities involved in a global opium war.

The trailer kicks off with a voice-over that showcases the British primarily coming to India for the opium poppy, which produces heroin. As the trailer unfolds, it explains how the British in India controlled the two places where the banned drug was cultivated most, particularly in Afghanistan and a region that is spread over places in Thailand, Laos, and Burma.

After the British left the country, the business was taken over by other entities, resulting in an opium war breaking out between the two main players, namely the Afghan Trading Company and the Golden Triangle. Gradually, the 4-minute-28-second trailer establishes all the villains of the Afghan Trading Company.

On the other hand, Anil Kapoor portrays the role of Raghuveer Rathod, the Chief of the Narcotics Bureau, while Biju Menon plays Jaleel Rahman, the Afghanistan Logistics Head. The other cast includes Khushbu Sundar, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, Ashutosh Rana, Anshuman Pushkar, Sidhant Gupta, Prabhas Srinu, Shatru, Shiva, Bhimal Jeet Oberoi, Ntuthuzelo Prince Grootboom, Aleksandr Mizev, and Benedict Paul Garrett.

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, the film was originally planned to hit the theatrical screens on June 25, 2025, but the makers later pushed it to 2027.
