Darling Re-Release Box Office Collection: Prabhas Surpasses His Own Feats, Achieving the Highest Pre-Opening Record

Prabhas is celebrating the release of its much-loved film, Darling, after 16 years since its grand release. The cult classic starring Prabhas, Kajal,  and Karunakaran collected Rs 4.44 crore on Day 1 of its re-release, i.e., Thursday, 23 Apr 2026. It ran 1,616 shows across 185 cities with a 47 percent occupancy rate. Surprisingly, Darling’s comeback at the cinema halls has managed to surpass the re-release pre-sales count of one of Prabhas‘ biggest hits, Salaar. The film, Salaar, held a strong position in the re-release charts with 102K ticket pre-sales. Interestingly, Darling has outshone its record with 154K total pre-sales.

Darling Re-Release Box Office Collection: A Closer Look at the Numbers

Darling’s total gross collection stands at Rs 4.64 crore after the first day of its theatrical run. The buzz around the film’s re-release has been palpable, with ticket pre-sales kicking off on April 17, a week before the official release date. While the superstar strived hard to survive at the box office with his last release, The RajaSaab, he is ruling the box office throne with his decades-long film. 

According to reports, on the first day of advance ticket sales, Darling sold an astonishing 39,000 tickets, and within just five days, the total ticket sales skyrocketed to approximately 112,000. The re-release has undoubtedly garnered the attention of fans and movie fanatics, outperforming other records. Talking about its worldwide collection, the film minted Rs 7.59 crore gross on day 1.

Marking its 16th anniversary with a massive, record-setting opening, the film is showing no signs of fading away from its craze. The romantic hit featuring Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal re-released in theatres on April 23, 2026, in a 4K remastered version. Helmed by A. Karunakaran, Darling is one of Prabhas’ most loved romantic entertainers.
