While fans and movie buffs are all geared up to watch 2012’s Dhanush and Shruti Haasan starrer ‘3’ on the silver screen once again on February 6, the actor has finalized his next release. On January 23, 2026, Wunderbar Films announced that Dhanush and Amaran filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy’s collaboration. The next big project, tentatively titled ‘D55’ might be hitting the theatres later this year. Meanwhile, audiences are going gaga over Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishq Mein OTT release.

The makers took to X on Friday and dropped a major update regarding Dhanush’s next project with director Rajkumar Periasamy. Alongwith a few pictures, the Wunderbar Films revealed their association with R Take Studios for the film. They have called the project ‘a grand new beginning,’ and fans can’t help but wait for a few more details to drop. 

In the pictures, Dhanush posed with the film’s team, sporting a white traditional outfit. No sooner did the makers share the good news than the users showed their excitement for the film in the comments section.

Reportedly, D55 may star Sai Pallavi as the female co-lead while Mammootty might play a key role. If the buzz turns out to be true, then fans will be overjoyed to witness the trio of Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Dhanush for the second time after the successful run of Maarie. The makers of the film are yet to announce the star cast, the final title, and, of course, its release date.
