Cocktail 2’s Bandhu 2.0 OUT: Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika Give a Fresh Twist to the Iconic Track

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, Cocktail 2 is all geared up to entertain the global audience on June 19, 2026. With a few days left for the premiere, the makers released a new single, Bandhu 2.0. Exuding pure nostalgia, the new song is a remix of the iconic 2012’s Tumhi Ho Bandhu from Cocktail. Composed by Pritam, the refreshed version is sung by Kavita Seth and Neeraj Shridhar. Irshad Kamil has written the lyrics while tapping on the themes of friendship, belonging, and shared memories.

Directed by Homi Adjania, the song stars the three taking self-aware potshots at themselves for attempting a remake of such a popular song. In a nutshell, it is a perfectly recreated friendship anthem, blending in a contemporary soundscape with the original track. As the release of Cocktail 2 draws closer, the makers have unveiled ‘Bandhu 2.0’, a reimagined version of the much-loved track ‘Tum Hi Ho Bandhu’. Synonymous with friendship and carefree companionship, the song perfectly captures the elements of the original song. 

The music video features the leads jokingly predicting that they will be trolled once the song is released. It is safe to say that the song is nothing short of a playful nod to the inevitable comparisons that come with revisiting an iconic track. Its The light-heartedness that adds a layer of charm to the song while dropping hints at the film’s youthful vibes. Shot on the film set itself, the song creates a sharp contrast to the original, which was shot on live locations.
