Bridgerton Season 5 Teaser Unveiled, Next Chapter to Focus on Francesca Bridgerton, Michaela Stirling? Find Out!

Just when the buzz around Netflix’s much-loved series, Bridgerton season 4, featuring Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton’s Cinderella-like love saga, faded, the makers announced Bridgerton season 5. Taking to their official social media handles, Netflix revealed the leads as Francesca Stirling (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza). 

The makers dropped the first-look teaser for the fifth season of Bridgerton, which is expected to emphasize the same-gender central romance starring actors Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza in the lead roles. The upcoming season will follow a second-chance love story between Francesca, a young widow, and Michaela, the cousin of Francesca’s late husband.

Bridgerton Season 5 to Star Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling

Dearest gentle readers, it is time to stay tuned for Bridgerton’s next chapter! Though you are waiting for Eloise’s love story, the makers have some different plans. Showrunner Jess Brownell stated that season 5 would be defined by “big-time yearning” between the couple. The story picks up two years after the death of Lord John Stirling, played by Victor Alli. 

Francesca, a role essayed by Hannah Dodd, decides to give marriage another chance with practical reasons before Michaela returns to London to manage the Kilmartin estate. Francesca’s feelings will rock the boat, forcing her to make tough decisions. Brownell shared, “What’s most exciting about Season 5 is that it is going to be a season about queer joy. It is not going to be a season about queer trauma. There are going to be difficulties for the characters and conflict the same way there is for every Bridgerton character. But we are still always grounding our love stories in the fact that this series is about joy.” 

Bridgerton Season 5 is currently in production phase. The makers are yet to confirm the release date. As per previous timelines, the Shonda Rhimes-created Netflix period romance may be released in late 2027 or early 2028.
