Amidst the box office dominance of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has been stealing the spotlight in all its glory. The horror-comedy drama offers spooky thrills and side-splitting chaos. Surprisingly, the film has surpassed expectations and brought Dhurandhar‘s top spot run to an end. On its first day of release, April 17, the Akshay Kumar-starrer witnessed successful box-office results, raking in Rs 28.70 crore gross worldwide. Directed by Priyadarshan, the drama collected a net of Rs 12.25 crores over 12,386 shows.

Bhooth Bangla hit the theatrical screens on April 17 with paid previews that started on April 16, 9 pm onwards. On the day 1 of its grand release, the horror comedy drama collected a total of Rs 19.20 crore gross and Rs 16 crore net in India. As of day 2 evening, the film has grossed Rs 9.50 crore in gross, bringing its worldwide gross collection to Rs 28.70 crore.
With its debut, Bhooth Bangla has overtaken Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which had been at the top for four weeks consistently. It saw a dip directly on day 30, minting approximately Rs 2.70 crore net and Rs 3.24 crore gross. Bankrolled by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the drama boasts a stellar cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Asrani, Mithila Palkar, and Jisshu Sengupta.
