A Quiet Place: Part 3 to Hit Theatres in 2027: Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy Return for the Next Chapter

The wait is finally over! A Quiet Place: Part 3 is set to arrive in theatres next year, on July 30. With John Krasinski returning to write, direct, and produce the next mind-boggling installment in the sci-fi horror franchise, Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy come together to reprise their roles. 

Though the details of the film are still under wraps, the franchise has already cemented itself as a box-office powerhouse. The postapocalyptic thriller is centered on a world decimated by blind extraterrestrial creatures that hunt by sound. Hence, silence is the only way to survive. A Quiet Place: Part 3 to Release in July 2027 

Almost seven weeks ago, writer, director, and producer Krasinski shared an update regarding the film. He took to his Instagram feed, pairing the post with the “Hamilton” song “One Last Time.” The post immediately sparked conversations around the saga nearing its conclusion. 

While the next chapter hits the screen on July 30, 2027, filming will begin next week with Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy returning in their reprising roles. Emily Blunt essays the role of Evelyn Abbott, the resilient, protective matriarch, as spotted in A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2021). As a mother surviving in a post-apocalyptic world infested with sound-sensitive creatures, her character focuses on protecting her children while enduring immense loss, including a pivotal, silent childbirth scene. On the other hand, Cillian Murphy portrays the character of Emmett. He is a hardened, reclusive survivor and former friend of Lee Abbott (John Krasinski). As a reluctant ally, Emmett is broken by grief and loss, representing a pessimistic view of humanity’s survival before becoming a protector for Evelyn Abbott and her children.

For the unversed, after its 2018 premiere at South by Southwest, the original film earned an Oscar nomination and grossed over $341 million worldwide. Additionally, 2021’s Quiet Place: Part II grossed nearly $298 million and earned a BAFTA nomination. In 2024, the prequel, A Quiet Place Day One, helmed by Michael Sarnoski and featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, added $262 million to the total. This brings the franchise’s total global earnings to over $900 million. Now all eyes are on the third installment.
