CBSE Releases Final Date Sheet for 2026 Board Exam: Download PDF and Check Schedule

The CBSE Board has released the final date sheet for the class 10th & 12th exams in 2026. The examination body announced, the exam will begin on February 17, 2026. As per the New Education Policy 2020, students will have two opportunities to give the exam every year. The first attempt is mandatory, and the second will be for improvement. The board has also ensured to give sufficient gaps between two subjects.

As per the notice, the CBSE board has released a tentative date sheet for the 2026 examinations on September 24, this year, based on the registration data from Class 9 and Class 11. Just 146 days prior to the exams were set to begin, the stakeholder will have time to manage and execute time and preparations for the exam. All schools have submitted their LOC. CBSE has the final data of subject combinations offered by the students. Therefore, CBSE has prepared the date sheet 110 days prior to the start of the examinations.

The board has also mentioned that, taking the entrance exams into consideration for which students apply on the basis of their 12th exam, the board exams will be concluded before the entrance test, allowing students to have plenty of time to study for their entrance. The board has also stated that the internal assessment will be conducted only before the main exam for once. Also, attendance is mandatory as any of the students who miss three or more on the first attempt will not be allowed to reappear on the second attempt. It will only be eligible for the next main exam.

In an official press statement, CBSE stated, “As per the recommendations of the NEP-2020 and stakeholders’ consultations, CBSE has decided to implement the policy of two Board Examinations in Class X from the 2026 examinations.” The February results will be declared in April. The second exam will be held in May and the results will be out in June. Those students who qualify for the exam will be allowed to improve their performance in Science, Mathematics, Social Science and languages. You can download the exam date sheet from cbse.gov.in.

Visit the official CBSE website at https://www.cbse.gov.in. then click on the Examinations tab on the homepage. After that, select Date Sheet from the dropdown menu, then click the link for CBSE Date Sheet X-XII Final 2026 and finally click to open the PDF and download or save it on your computer. The exam timings will be 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.
