Mahindra Group Expands Battery-as-a-Service Model to All eSUVs
On Friday, Mahindra Group said that its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) architecture would be implemented throughout its eSUV portfolio. The BaaS model, which was first used when the performance oriented born electirc SUV SPORTEQ was unveiled, allows consumers to finance the car and battery separately through a dual financing arrangement.
According to the company, the larger portfolio now includes all XEV 9S and XEV 9e models, as well as all SPORTEQ models, PTI reports. Following an amazing reaction from customers across the nation, Mahindra announced the model’s growth, proving the need for remedies that reduce obstacles to EV adoption.
The company stated that with battery financing at an effective usage cost of Rs. 3.75/km, the XEV 9S now owns at Rs. 12.65 lakh as part of this BaaS program. It added that the XEV 9e model now starts at Rs. 13.90 lakh with battery financing at an effective usage cost of Rs. 3.75/km.
The corporation said that this growth is a further move toward Mahindra’s goal of making EV adoption easier by lowering entry hurdles and putting the customer’s needs first in the ownership experience via clever and flexible ownership choices.
