The process for booking and delivering LPG cylinders has undergone major revisions. From May 1, 2026, these regulations will be modified. The pricing has also shifted somewhat. The modifications that we will be covering are listed below.
The frequency of LPG reservations has been extended from 21 to 25 days in cities and as many as 45 days in rural regions. Any booking effort made before the permitted time has passed will be immediately blocked by the system.
The Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) is no longer up for discussion from May 1st, according to the revised rules. Customers will no longer be able to get their cylinders only by presenting a real blue book or receipt.
When a refill is reserved, the customer’s registered mobile number will receive an OTP. To combat diversion, the government has confirmed that more than 94.5 percent of LPG shipments are now verified using delivery authentication codes.
For 14.2 kg household cylinders, Indian oil companies have increased the cost of LPG cylinders by Rs. 60. The price of commercial 19 kg cylinders has increased even more dramatically, with three increases occurring in a short period of time. From May 1, prices are expected to undergo another adjustment.
For recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government has mandated biometric authentication based on Aadhaar. Users of LPG who haven’t finished their eKYC must do so. This rule, according to the Ministry, is only applicable to individuals who haven’t finished the procedure before.
