Now, there will be a revised list of financial rules effective July 1, Wednesday, which will have an impact on your daily financial decisions. When you plan your budget for the entire month. It is important to understand that from the first day of July you need to follow certain revised financial rules.

Credit card users, Aadhaar holders, passport applicants, taxpayers and bank clients need to pay attention on these financial reforms. The most important change is the passport application fees.

Here are the Passport Application Fees (Revised):

Normal 36 page passport: Rs. 2,500 (formerly Rs. 1,500)

Standard 60 page passport: Rs. 3,500 (formerly Rs. 2,000)

Tatkaal 36 page Passport: Rs. 5,000

Tatkaal 60 page Passport: Rs. 6,000

The new rates are applicable to both new and re-issued passport applications.

Updates to Free Aadhaar Email:

The Rs. 75 cost for updating the Aadhar registered email address has been waived for six months, starting July 1, 2026. Aadhaar holders can update their email address free of charge via the Aadhaar mobile app until December 31, 2026.

HDFC Bank Lounge Access with a Credit Card:

Customers who have an HDFC Bank credit card must now spend at least Rs. 60,000 in the previous calendar quarter to be eligible for three complimentary domestic airport lounge visits in the following calendar quarter.

SBI Card Modifies the Regulations Governing Reward Points:

SBI Card has changed the reward point system for certain co-branded credit cards beginning July 1, 2026. The PhonePe SBI Credit Card PURPLE and PhonePe SBI Credit Card SELECT BLACK versions are subject to changes. The updated regulations have set monthly maximums for reward points and increased the variety of transactions that are ineligible for rewards.

LPG Gas Price:

The government has lowered the cost of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 183.50 as of July 1, providing comfort to hotels, restaurants and other commercial users. However, there is no change in the pricing of domestic LPG cylinders weighing 14.2 kg. Following a string of significant increases in commercial LPG cylinder prices during the first half of this year, the reduction is made.

Deadline for Submitting Your ITR:

By July 31, 2026, taxpayers submitting ITR-1 and ITR-2 for Assessment Year 2026-27 (Financial Year 2025-26) must file their income tax returns.
