Tech jobs are now more high-paying jobs, but recently a post shared by a Google employee has sparked debate on social media. Here is what she said and gave an insight on the high-paying tech jobs in India.
The discussion about tech salaries in India has been reignited by a Google employee in Bengaluru. The notion that engineers can readily afford luxury items is untrue and even the finest software engineers cannot afford to spend crores at will, Divya Porwal stated on X. A significant portion of the Bengaluru techie’s income goes towards taxes, rent, bills and family necessities, she said, adding that she would rather not disclose her income. She also said that even well-paying employment does not always provide easy access to luxury.
A software engineer who recently joined Google, Divya Porwal, said that she was once advised that you work at Google, if you can easily buy a Lamborghini.
What does the post say? Read here:
Lamborghini in India starts from around ₹4–5 crore.
And I don’t even earn a Crore in a year.
Someone said: “Bro you work at Google, you can easily buy one ”
Really? Lol
After taxes, rent, family responsibilities, daily life…⁰a big chunk of salary is already gone.

She said in an X post that it’s not simple to own a Lamborghini in India because the price ranges from Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 5 crore and her yearly income is much less than that. Porwal stated in her X post that the price of a Lamborghini in India is between Rs. 4 to 5 crore and that she doesn’t even make Rs. 1 crore annually.
